Dr. Kaleigh Mercer always felt a strong connection to animals and knew she wanted to work with them at a young age. As she was growing up, in a small town in Illinois, she could often be found taking in stray cats, rehabilitating orphaned wildlife, and caring for her childhood dog that had multiple health issues.
Dr. Mercer went on to pursue her career at the University of Illinois, where she got her bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences and then moved to attend the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Right away she knew she loved Minnesota, so she and her husband decided to call it home.
Dr. Mercer really enjoys getting to know her patients and clients and truly values the close relationships she forms with them. She has a special interest in ultrasonography and physical rehab. She has two rescue dogs that keep her busy: Greg, an American foxhound mix, and Lars, an Irish wolfhound/greyhound mix. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as traveling, camping, downhill skiing, drawing, singing, and catching up on her favorite tv shows.
